DAB motors is a boundary-pushing motorcycle brand, earning global recognition and awards. In 2023, the company entered a new era of industrial growth by becoming part of Peugeot Motocycles. Blending industrial design, fashion, and innovation, DAB Motors creates motorcycles that transcend function, embodying art, culture, and pure pleasure

The historical headquarters and design offices are located in Bayonne, in southwest France, where design, general management, prototyping, engineering, marketing, and other core activities are carried out. The motorcycles are manufactured in Beaulieu-Mandeure, France, at Peugeot Motocycles’ historic factory. Each DAB motorcycle is hand-assembled there alongside approximately 8,000 premium models produced annually, ensuring the highest production and quality standards.

DAB was founded by French engineer and designer Simon Dabadie, a motorcycle enthusiast passionate about motorcycles, design, pop culture, and fashion. The brand was born from a simple obsession: to create a motorcycle that no one had yet dared to imagine. Under the name Dab Design, he developed motorcycle components and 3D renderings for industry leaders such as Yamaha, Roland Sands Design, Skully Systems, and Deus Ex Machina. But designing was not enough — Simon wanted to ride a machine that didn’t exist yet, one that combined beautiful design with premium components while remaining road-legal. In 2018, he took the final step and launched DAB Motors as an official motorcycle manufacturer. Simon Dabadie’s approach elevated the motorcycle to the status of a cultural object; inspired by art and design, he built a distinctive identity that attracted global icons such as Rosalía, Marcus Rashford, FKA Twigs, JR, and J Balvin, as well as fashion houses including Burberry and David Koma.

DAB are the first three letters of founder Simon Dabadie’s last name.

DAB Motors is redefining the premium electric motorcycle segment by combining French design, advanced electric technology, and high-end craftsmanship. Built in France, DAB electric motorcycles deliver zero-emission performance, instant torque, and a refined riding experience, making them ideal for urban mobility and modern riders seeking sustainable transportation. Model like the DAB 1  showcase the brand’s vision of electric mobility as both performance engineering and design culture, blending minimalist aesthetics, lightweight construction, and premium components. By focusing on innovation, sustainability, and emotional design, DAB Motors positions itself as a leader in the luxury electric motorcycle market and the future of electric two-wheel mobility.

DAB electric motorcycles are made in France and assembled in partnership with Peugeot Motocycles, combining industrial manufacturing expertise with premium design and craftsmanship.

DAB motorcycles are electric, which means they produce no direct (tailpipe) carbon emissions while riding. However, overall emissions depend on how the electricity used to charge the battery is produced.

If your electricity comes partly from fossil fuels, charging the motorcycle will indirectly generate emissions. If it comes from renewable sources, those emissions can be significantly reduced or eliminated.

DAB encourages riders to choose electricity suppliers that rely on renewable energy sources whenever possible. You can choose this while selecting your housing energy provider.

That said, the amount of electricity required to charge a DAB motorcycle is relatively low. Even when charged using a standard electricity mix, riding an electric motorcycle still results in substantially lower carbon emissions compared to a petrol-powered equivalent.

Beyond usage, DAB focuses on:

  • Efficient electric drivetrains
  • Energy recovery through regenerative braking
  • Durable, high-quality manufacturing designed for long service life

While no vehicle is entirely impact-free, DAB motorcycles are designed to offer a cleaner and more responsible alternative to traditional internal combustion motorcycles.

Even in the worst electricity mix, an electric motorcycle emits 2–5× less CO₂ than a petrol 125cc. In France, it’s closer to 20–30× less.

While no vehicle has zero impact, DAB motorcycles are designed to be a cleaner and more responsible alternative to traditional petrol motorcycles—especially when charged with renewable electricity.
